From Conflict to Communion
Five hundred years ago, Lutherans and other Protestants gave their lives defending Biblical truths against errors of the Catholic church. What has made it possible for Protestant churches to come together with the Roman Catholic Church now? Do Protestants now believe what Catholics believe about such doctrines as transubstantiation, veneration of the host, ordination of pastors, differentiation between clergy and laity, and the primacy of the Pope? Is the Reformation over?
When the Jews rejected Christ, saying, “We have no king but Caesar” they brought a curse upon themselves and Jerusalem was destroyed. Has Protestantism rejected King Jesus and accepted a Roman king in His place? Is history about to be repeated?
