Contrasting Sin and Righteousness

Sin and righteousness are great opposites. The Bible tells us in 1 John 3:4 that, "Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law." And in regards to righteousness the Bible tells us that it is a free gift that comes from faith in God. Philippians 3:9, "And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith."
