Fruits & Veggies: Mixing Magic or Mealtime Mayhem?

Mixing Fruits and Vegetables
810 views
Can you mix fruits and vegetables? This question can be confusing. It has been scientifically proven that combining certain fruits and vegetables can impact digestion and blood sugar levels. One possible reason for this lies in the sugar and fiber content of these foods. Fruits are often high in natural sugars and fiber but low in minerals, while vegetables are typically higher in minerals and lower in sugar. The contrasting sugar content affects the digestive system.

There are also exceptions, like certain savory fruits with lower sugar content, such as tomatoes and avocados, which can be more versatile in combination with vegetables. What we have found is those with diseases, or those who struggle with weight management should opt for lower-sugar, savory fruits for better health. Ultimately, it is better not to mix sugary fruits with your veggies at the same meal. Join Barbara O'Neil in this quick video as she shares her insights on this topic!
